419 companies cut their borrowings by 20% or more in a year

How this screen works
Borrowings down at least 20% from a year earlier (including companies that repaid all of it), from at least ₹10 crore a year ago, on a balance sheet from the last year. Banks, lenders & insurers are left out: borrowing and deposits are the raw material of their business. Falling debt lowers interest costs and risk; check it came from cash flow, not from selling assets.

Screens help you find BSE-listed companies to study; they are not recommendations.
Figures use consolidated results where a company files them, otherwise standalone. Growth compares a quarter with the same quarter a year earlier. Companies on BSE's SME platform that file results every six months are shown on half-years, marked "half-year": growth compares a half-year with the same half a year earlier, & their 12 months are the latest full year or the last two half-years. EPS from before a split or bonus is restated on today's share count; P/E is left blank when the share count changed after the latest quarter. Operating margin, ROCE & debt ratios are left blank for banks, lenders & insurers, where they do not describe the business; price to sales is blank for them too, and their cards show P/B instead. Banks, NBFCs & other lenders are valued on their books, so their P/E & PEG are left out too (in the table, in filters & sorts, & in the CSV) & P/B (price ÷ book value per share) is their measure; insurers keep P/E. PEG uses 12-month EPS growth capped at 100% and is blank when 12-month EPS a year earlier was below ₹1. When one-off (exceptional) items come to more than a quarter of 12-month pre-tax profit, P/E, PEG & 12-month EPS growth leave them out (profit before tax & those items, taxed at 25%) & are marked "without one-offs"; a company whose consolidated quarters are incomplete shows P/E on its standalone results, marked "standalone". A revenue jump of 50 times or more on both the year-ago & the previous quarter is marked "check the filing" & left out of business screens & sorts. ROCE here is 12-month profit before interest & tax ÷ (equity + borrowings) on the latest balance sheet. Price screens use about a year of raw BSE daily prices: a company needs 200 trading days and a median BSE turnover of at least ₹25 lakh a day to be measured, and about 240 trading days for the 1-year change, relative strength rating & trend checklist. Most splits and bonuses are detected and left out; a small bonus (e.g. 1 for 4) can slip through until adjusted prices are loaded. Relative strength ranks a company against the BSE companies we measure, and volume & turnover are BSE trading only. Built 2026-10-19 15:07 UTC; refreshed every six hours.
